"The most common way people give up their power
is by thinking they don't have any."
Alice Walker
I recently got together a group of ladies. As we sat down to eat, I thanked them for being in my life. As of late, I have really been needing these female connections. The world feels hard and overwhelming at times, and these ladies really helped to ground me and also to remember what is important.
As we were eating our tacos, we talked about hormones, menopause, kids, relationships, jobs, sex and community. We all agreed that many of these topics can be difficult to talk about. And more importantly no enough women are sharing their experiences.
Some of us expressed frustration that our medical doctors are not asking or are not informed especially when it comes to hormones and menopause. The web is filled with conflicting information and we all tried to get the record straight. More importantly we shared our own anecdotal experiences.
It is through these experiences that we feel validated, heard & less confused.
Remember that if you are confused chances are there are many other women in your community that feel the same way.
This month…
Gather your ladies together!
Laugh, cry, tell stories, drink wine, eat good food, dance, ask the uncomfortable questions that you’ve been holding inside.
When women gather good shit happens!
