Summer is in full swing!

Cold brew is easy to make at home and very cost effective.

I use a Filtron to make my cold brew  https://www.filtron.com/.

This device makes for a quick brew and an even quicker clean up.

I typically make mine with ½ decaf coffee so I can drink it later in the day without it affecting my sleep. 

Recipe: 

  • 12oz of coarse ground coffee (the darker the blend the better)
  • Put the stopper and wool filter in place
  • Put coffee grounds into the filtron
  • Put the water bowl on top of the coffee bowl
  • Let it sit on the counter for 12 hours or so
  • Take the water bowl off
  • Pull stopper and place coffee bowl on top of decanter and allow cold brew to drain

Now it is ready to drink.

Pour 1-2 oz of coffee concentrate into a glass and add hot or cold water or milk of your choice.

You can store it on the counter for up to 5-7 days or keep it in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
